Davido Targeted in Attack on Osun Governor's Convoy

On Wednesday, during a visit to the Ataoja of Osogbo's palace, the convoy of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke was attacked, with music star David Adeleke, known as Davido, being the actual target. The governor's security engaged unidentified attackers in a gun duel, causing panic among residents.

Police Public Relations Officer in Osun, Abiodun Ojelabi, stated that preliminary investigations revealed members of Eye Confraternity were after Davido. A suspected thug, Adebayo Taoreed, attempted to access Davido but was resisted by his security team, leading to a confrontation that attracted more gang members.

Tragically, a 60-year-old man, Tajudeen Yusuf, was shot dead during the incident. The police mobilized a patrol team to the scene, where Yusuf was found and later pronounced dead at the University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.

The Osun State Police Command has initiated a full-scale investigation and urged the public to provide any useful information.
