DELSU Named Best State University in Nigeria for 2025

Delta State University (DELSU), located in Abraka, has been recognized as the best state university in Nigeria for the year 2025, as announced by Vice Chancellor Professor Samuel Asagba during a press conference ahead of the 18th convocation ceremony. The university also ranks as the best in the South East and South South regions and is positioned 12th overall in the nation.

Professor Asagba highlighted the institution's efforts to deepen international partnerships to boost capacity and global visibility, with collaborations planned with institutions in China, Canada, the United States, and South Africa. He assured that rehabilitation work on student hostels is underway, aiming to address accommodation challenges.

DELSU has received significant funding from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), including N4 billion for the Faculty of Engineering and N2.5 billion for medical laboratories. The Vice Chancellor also noted the expansion of the university's study scheme and the ongoing support from the Delta State government.
