Delta APC Denies Violence Claims at Stakeholders' Meeting

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a statement denying reports of violence and chaos during its stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday at the Petroleum Training Institute Conference Centre in Effurun. The party's Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, emphasized that the meeting was peaceful and orderly, attended by party leaders and stakeholders, and broadcast live on Arise Television and TVC News.

The APC described the claims of panic and disorder as a "reckless, false and sensational distortion" of the actual events. They dismissed a viral video cited in the report as unrelated to the meeting's venue.

The APC also refuted claims of internal leadership disputes, affirming Solomon Arenyeka as the duly recognized chairman. The party criticized the newspaper for factual inaccuracies, including misidentifying the current state publicity secretary.

The APC warned of potential legal action if the newspaper does not retract the report and apologize within seven days, reaffirming its commitment to internal unity and support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Tinubu’s agenda.
