Delta APC Denies Omo-Agege's Violence Allegations

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a statement on Wednesday, categorically denying allegations made by former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, which linked the party to recent violent incidents in the state. The APC described Omo-Agege's claims as false, politically motivated, and an attempt to mislead the public.

The party accused him of exploiting a recent incident at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Conference Centre in Effurun for political gain, alleging that he falsely portrayed it as orchestrated political violence. The APC specifically refuted claims that it sponsored thugs to obstruct the visit of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate, Mr.

Chris Iyovwaye, to his Aghalokpe community. The APC maintained that the violence occurred outside its peaceful meeting at the PTI and condemned Omo-Agege's allegations of a coordinated campaign of violence ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party challenged Omo-Agege to provide credible evidence to security agencies and reiterated its commitment to a thorough investigation into the incidents.
