Delta Govt Denies Omo-Agege's Assassination Claims

The Delta State Government has rejected allegations made by former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, who claimed that his life and that of his family members were under threat from the Government House in Asaba. Charles Aniagwu, the state Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, described Omo-Agege's claims as baseless and politically motivated, suggesting that the former senator was attempting to draw attention to himself ahead of the 2027 general election.

Aniagwu urged Omo-Agege to focus on his plans for the Delta Central Senatorial District, where he is contesting for a Senate seat, rather than making allegations against Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who is seeking re-election. Aniagwu emphasized that the governor does not make threats and pointed to the security and tranquillity in the state during the administration's tenure.

He stated that the government would not engage in personal attacks and would focus on showcasing its development projects in the lead-up to the elections.
