Omo-Agege Alleges Death Threats from Delta Governor Oborevwori

Ovie Omo-Agege, former Deputy President of the Senate and current Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Delta Central Senatorial District, has publicly raised alarms regarding alleged death threats directed at him and his family. He made these claims on Thursday as he initiated his campaign activities for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Omo-Agege described the threats as "disturbing and increasingly credible," specifically naming Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the source of these threats. He urged the Nigerian public, international community, civil society organizations, media, and security agencies to take formal notice, stating that Oborevwori should be held accountable should anything happen to him or his family.

Omo-Agege, who recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the NDC, emphasized the need for effective representation and criticized the current state of governance in Delta, citing issues like poor infrastructure and rising unemployment.
