WATI Praises New Online Discount Shop for Military Families

The Women Against Terrorism and Insurgency (WATI) stated that the newly launched Armed Forces of Nigeria Personnel Online Discount Shop will significantly bolster the morale and welfare of serving military personnel, veterans, and their families. This initiative, introduced by the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), aims to provide a practical mechanism for accessing essential goods at preferential prices, thereby alleviating financial pressures on military families.

Dr. Veronica Bazuaye, the Convener of WATI, emphasized the importance of welfare support for military personnel operating in demanding environments. The inclusion of veterans and their families in this scheme is particularly noteworthy, as it extends welfare considerations beyond active service.

WATI also welcomed the DHQ's plans to expand the platform with more vendors and essential commodities, which could enhance the initiative's value. The organization commended the DHQ and Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede for this welfare measure and highlighted the collaboration with Zinox Group as a positive example of technology and private-sector partnerships addressing welfare needs.
