DIA Confirms Colonel AA Ude's Killing in Abuja Attack

The Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) confirmed the killing of Colonel AA Ude, a senior officer, following a shooting attack by unidentified assailants at his residence in Abuja on July 28, 2026, at approximately 10:45 p.m. The incident took place in Phase 5, Army Housing Estate, Kurudu.

Captain JE Oti, the Acting Assistant Director, Protocol at the DIA, issued a press statement regarding the incident. The DIA has initiated a full investigation in collaboration with security and law enforcement authorities to identify, arrest, and prosecute those responsible for the attack.

The agency expressed regret over the tragic death of Colonel Ude and assured the public of its commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s security. The killing has raised security concerns, prompting intensified efforts to ascertain the identity of the attackers and their motives.

The DIA extended condolences to the family of the deceased officer, his colleagues, and members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
