Fire Incidents in Lagos Contained Without Casualties

On Thursday, a significant disaster was averted in Lagos when emergency responders successfully contained two fire incidents: one involving a gas-laden tanker in Ikotun and another at the electronics section of a Justrite Superstore in Egbeda. The spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Olawale Afolabi, reported that the tanker fire occurred at Ola Farm Bus Stop, where the vehicle was engulfed in flames after the driver lost control due to a tyre burst caused by hitting a road bump.

LASEMA officials collaborated with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading. Traffic management was handled by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, the Federal Road Safety Corps, and the Nigeria Police.

No injuries or fatalities were reported. LASEMA's Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, urged motorists to adhere to speed limits.

Additionally, a fire at Justrite Superstore was extinguished without casualties, as confirmed by Margaret Adeseye, the Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
