Disu Honors Egbetokun at Retirement Ceremony

On Thursday, Olatunji Disu, the current Inspector General of Police, paid tribute to his predecessor, Olukayode Egbetokun, during a ceremony held at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters to honor Egbetokun's retirement after a decade of service. Disu recalled their professional paths intersecting during Bola Tinubu's governorship in Lagos State, where Egbetokun served as the Chief Security Officer.

Disu emphasized Egbetokun's dedication, strong leadership, and significant contributions to police training and operational efficiency. Egbetokun's tenure as Inspector General, which began on June 19, 2023, was marked by reforms aimed at enhancing professionalism and public trust in the police.

He implemented various initiatives, including the establishment of a cybercrime center and improvements in police infrastructure across several states. Egbetokun's leadership style was characterized by calm intellect and strategic foresight, guiding the Nigeria Police Force through complex security challenges.
