DSS Arraigns Osaz Adun for Assault on Dr. Obaseki

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned Osaz Adun in the Edo State High Court, presided over by Hon. Justice R. Ogbevoen, concerning allegations of assault and harassment against Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki.

The DSS filed a motion on Friday, seeking a court order to remand Adun at the Correctional Centre while awaiting advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The defense counsel, led by Olayiwola Afolabi SAN and supported by Collins Ogiegbaen and five others, argued that the matter was bail-able under fundamental human rights provisions.

The judge ultimately granted bail to Adun in the sum of N5,000,000, requiring sureties who are civil servants at grade level 12 or above, and ordered Adun to appear in court every last Friday of the month pending the DPP's advice. The case stems from an incident involving Dr. Pedro Obaseki that occurred in December 2025 in Benin City.
