MultiChoice Upgrades DStv Compact Plus to Premium Access

MultiChoice has announced a significant upgrade for DStv Compact Plus subscribers, allowing them to access the full DStv Premium channel experience without an increase in their monthly subscription fee. This upgrade, effective from September 17, 2026, provides eligible Compact Plus customers with access to approximately 160 channels, including enhanced premium and sports content, while maintaining their existing subscription rates.

Although subscribers will see the old package name on their bills, Compact Plus has been grandfathered, meaning it is no longer available for new subscribers. Current subscribers can continue using it, but those who disconnect will not be able to return to Compact Plus.

New customers will have to select from other packages such as EasyView, Select, Starter, Sports, & Series, and Premium. The restructuring also includes the introduction of a Movies & Series package and a new Sports package, which aims to cater to the demand for dedicated sports programming.

MultiChoice has not specified when the free Premium upgrade will end.
