MultiChoice Offers Free Sports Access to DStv Subscribers
MultiChoice has introduced a new incentive for DStv subscribers, offering selected customers in South Africa temporary free access to higher-tier content. Starting September 29, 2026, DStv Select subscribers will receive seven days of free access to the newly launched DStv Sports package.
This offer is available to subscribers who pay their monthly fees in full and on time, with no registration required. After the trial period, subscribers will revert to their regular Select package.
MultiChoice CEO Willington Ngwepe indicated that this restructuring is part of a broader strategy to enhance subscriber value. The DStv Sports bouquet includes 17 channels featuring various sports, marking a significant overhaul of DStv products.
Existing Compact Plus customers will be upgraded to the Premium package without additional charges, while the standard Premium package costs R799 for streaming-only subscribers and R979 for decoder customers. The changes reflect MultiChoice's efforts to adapt to competition from streaming platforms.
