Duke Aims to Unite Opposition in Presidential Race

Donald Duke, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), stated on Wednesday in Abuja that his motivation for re-entering the presidential race is to unite Nigeria's opposition forces rather than to fragment votes. Duke, a former governor of Cross River State, emphasized the urgent need for a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He clarified that his ambition should not be seen as a personal quest for the presidency but as part of a broader effort to present a coherent program addressing Nigeria's economic and security challenges. Duke acknowledged the risk of multiple opposition candidates dividing votes but argued that the solution lies in building a united structure among opposition politicians.

He expressed readiness to engage with other opposition leaders to create a stronger common platform, aiming to provide Nigerians with genuine electoral choices. Duke highlighted the necessity for leadership capable of making difficult decisions and fostering an environment conducive to prosperity.
