Orogho Community Denies Marginalization Claims

On 12 September 2026, indigenes of Orogho community in Edo State, represented by the Orogho Community Concerned Indigenes, refuted allegations made by Stanley Eghaghe regarding marginalization and mismanagement of benefits from companies operating in the area. The community's statement, signed by Youth Leader Nosa Osayande and others, claimed Eghaghe lacked the authority to represent them, asserting he was from Owuo.

They challenged him to provide concrete evidence of financial misconduct rather than making unsubstantiated claims. The indigenes stated that Orogho had experienced significant development and transformation under its current leadership, despite acknowledging the need for more infrastructure and employment opportunities.

They cited recent engagements with Seplat concerning oil wells and benefits, as well as a successful one-year employment program with Geoplex for local youths. The community urged that concerns be addressed through proper channels and reaffirmed their commitment to peace, unity, and constructive dialogue.
