Edo Council Chairman Impeached by Local Councillors Amidst Political Turmoil

The council chairman of Akoko Edo Local Government, Honour Bliss Alabi Oshionogu, was impeached by seven councillors following a reported rush to the Igarra headquarters to issue the impeachment letter. The Edo State House of Assembly's failure to convene a peace meeting resulted in Oshionogu's impeachment within hours.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) condemned the Edo State government's alleged plan to establish a state-owned airline, criticizing the move as disconnected from the pressing needs of Edo residents amidst infrastructure decay and urban challenges.
