Seyi Makinde Promises Nigeria Reset in Four Years

Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), announced his vision to reset Nigeria within four years if elected in the 2027 presidential elections. Speaking at the APM North-Central Town Hall Meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Monday, he emphasized the need for a comprehensive reset covering security, education, economy, and the socio-political environment.

Makinde highlighted that his administration would implement special programs for vulnerable groups and criticized the current federal government's economic policies, referring to them as “voodoo economics.” He noted that despite increased funding from the Federation Account, issues like insecurity and hunger persist. Makinde also shared his experience in reducing Oyo State's dependence on federal allocations from over 80% to 65% before recent economic challenges.

He concluded by rallying support with his campaign slogan, “I’m a resetter, are you a Resetter?” alongside APM's National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, who indicated growing support for the party ahead of the elections.
