Edo Deputy Governor Rewards Top UTME Scorer with N1m

On Wednesday, Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dennis Idahosa, presented a cash gift of N1 million to Master Daniel Osagiobare, an Edo-born student who achieved the highest score in the South-South geopolitical zone and ranked fourth overall in Nigeria in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination with a score of 368. During the reception at his office in Benin City, Idahosa praised Osagiobare's academic excellence, describing him as a worthy ambassador of Edo State.

He emphasized that the reward aimed to inspire other students to pursue academic success and reaffirmed the commitment of the Senator Monday Okpebholo-led administration to quality education. Idahosa urged Osagiobare to remain focused and humble in his academic journey.

Osagiobare expressed gratitude for the recognition and financial support, calling it a life-changing moment. His father, Christopher Osagiobare, also thanked the deputy governor, stating that the gesture would motivate young Nigerians to achieve academic distinction.
