Edo Security Operative Dies in Kidnap Rescue Operation

Stanlei Emenin, a member of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC), died from gunshot wounds sustained during a joint security operation aimed at rescuing a kidnapped farmer in Igbank Community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Edo State. Emenin, aged 43, was reported to have been shot while participating in a bush combing operation that successfully rescued the 60-year-old farmer, Osemek, who had been abducted by armed men.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Emenin succumbed to his injuries on June 29. Following his death, the Commissioner of Police for Edo State, Agbonika, along with Assistant Commissioner of Police Innoc Nkeamatara, visited Emenin's family in Idumodu Community to pay their condolences.

Agbonika described Emenin as a courageous and selfless individual whose sacrifice for community security would not be forgotten. The police also issued a statement expressing condolences to Emenin's family and friends.
