Edo Security Squad Arrests 12 Cultists in Benin Raid

The Edo State Security Squad conducted a raid in Uzebu Quarter, Benin, resulting in the arrest of 12 suspected cultists. Mr.

Georg Aburim, the public secretary, disclosed this information to journalists on Saturday. The operation targeted a known hub for drug trafficking and cult activities, with the suspects handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution if found culpable.

Governor Mondai Okpebholo's administration has stated it will not tolerate any criminal breaches of law and order in Edo State. Additionally, the Aburim squad visited Iyanomo Community in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area to address a leadership dispute involving rival groups, aiming to restore peace and urging factions to embrace dialogue to avoid actions that could disrupt public order.

Aburim appealed to residents not to harbor criminals, stressing the importance of community support in sustaining peace and security across the state.
