Edo Security Corps Arrests 14 in Cult Killing Raid

The Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) conducted a raid on a hotel in Jattu Junction, resulting in the arrest of 14 suspects connected to a cult-related killing in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area. The operation, led by Chief Security Officer Mondai Okpebholo, followed heightened tensions after the murder of a middle-aged man, allegedly shot by cultists.

The raid, which took place on a Wednesday and Friday, was part of a broader effort to restore peace in Edo North Senatorial District. The team, under the command of Patrick Ebojel, also demolished the Abiodun Motor Park, known for illegal revenue collection.

The suspects were apprehended based on intelligence reports indicating they planned to move to the hotel to continue their activities. The prime suspect, Anefi Kassim, was not found during the operation, and authorities have given a 24-hour ultimatum for his production.
