EFCC Arrests Kannywood Actress Samha Inuwa for Alleged Naira Abuse

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Samha Inuwa, a popular actress in the northern Nigerian film industry known as Kannywood, for allegedly abusing the Naira currency. Inuwa was taken into custody by the EFCC's Kano zonal director on February 3, 2026, following a viral video on social media where she was seen using a Naira note to wipe her nose.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed the arrest, attributing it to the video that prompted swift action by the commission. Investigations are ongoing, and Inuwa is currently detained at the EFCC's facility in Kano.

Oyewale mentioned that the actress would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
