EFCC Arrests Spiritualist for Blackmailing Indian Woman

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Odigie Moses, a self-acclaimed spiritualist, in Ekpoma, Edo State, over allegations of sextortion involving $1,100. The EFCC reported that Moses posed as a spiritual healer on Zelle and convinced an Indian woman seeking spiritual help for life-threatening challenges to participate in a naked spiritual bath.

He recorded the session without her consent and subsequently blackmailed her, threatening to release the video unless she paid him. The investigation revealed that the victim paid Moses $1,100 to prevent the release of the recording.

The EFCC stated that Moses misrepresented himself on Zelle, leading to the victim's contact with him. The commission confirmed that Moses would be charged in court upon the completion of investigations.
