DHQ Commits to Salary Increase for Retired Military Personnel

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the welfare of retired military personnel, including the implementation of an approved salary increase and corresponding pension adjustments. This commitment was articulated by Major General Samaila Uba during a strategic retreat held in Abuja, where various military veteran associations were represented.

Major General Jamal Abdussalam, representing the Chief of Defence Operations, emphasized the importance of maintaining open dialogue with veterans to address their concerns effectively. The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, commended President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing the welfare of armed forces members and urged veterans to remain patient and uphold their values of discipline and loyalty.

The retreat underscored the need for stronger collaboration among veteran organizations and encouraged retired personnel to actively participate in national development efforts, highlighting ongoing demands for improved pension, healthcare, and welfare benefits.
