Governor Lawal Calls for Prayers for Peace During Eid

In a statewide broadcast on Wednesday, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State called on residents to intensify their prayers for peace and stability in Zamfara and across Nigeria during the Eid al-Adha celebrations. He congratulated Muslims on the occasion, which commemorates the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim.

Lawal urged particularly those performing Hajj to continue praying for peace and security, noting the state's ongoing efforts to combat banditry and the gradual return of displaced communities to their ancestral homes. He cited the recent resettlement of thousands of internally displaced persons in the Fegin Kanawa village of Gusau Local Government Area.

Lawal reaffirmed his administration's commitment to ensuring the safe return of displaced persons and sustaining efforts to restore peace in affected communities. He emphasized that collective prayer and support from residents remain vital to ongoing security and peace-building efforts across the state and wished Muslims a peaceful Eid al-Adha celebration.
