Ekiti State Approves N17.18bn for Infrastructure Projects

The Ekiti State Executive Council approved a budget of N17.18 billion for various infrastructure projects aimed at accelerating development and improving public safety. This decision was made during the fifth Executive Council meeting of 2026, held last Monday in Ado Ekiti.

The council allocated N14.31 billion for two strategic road projects, including the reconstruction of the 18.83-kilometer Ilaw-Erijiyan-Ikogosi road at a cost of N12.58 billion and the construction of a 2.24-kilometer road opposite Olaoluwa Muslim Grammar School for N1.73 billion. Additionally, N2.063 billion was approved for upgrading four rural access roads to enhance agricultural market access.

The council also allocated N337.66 million for four strategic electricity projects, including upgrades to the power supply in several communities. Furthermore, N381.65 million was designated for installing solar-powered streetlights in Ado Ekiti.

The council approved N74.96 million for developing a water and sanitation regulatory data management system, with support from the World Bank.
