Chibuike Okpara Confesses to Killing Girlfriend in Enugu

Chibuike Okpara, 30, has allegedly confessed to the murder of his girlfriend, Chinyere Ugwu, 27, following a dispute regarding HIV infection. The incident took place on September 19 at Okpara's apartment located in Olympic Layout, One-Day Area, Enugu State.

After the argument escalated into a physical confrontation, Okpara claimed he struck Ugwu, causing her to collapse. He subsequently dismembered her body and concealed the remains in a toilet.

Neighbors reported a foul odor, leading to the discovery of the body. Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the victim's identity and stated that Okpara would face prosecution.

Okpara, who met Ugwu on Facebook in 2023, expressed remorse, claiming he was under the influence of drugs during the incident and pleaded for forgiveness, asserting that the act was not intentional.
