Liam Delap Joins Nottingham Forest for £50m Transfer

Liam Delap has completed a club-record transfer from Chelsea to Nottingham Forest for £50 million, signing a five-year contract at the City Ground. The 23-year-old striker joins Nottingham Forest after a single season at Stamford Bridge, where he managed to score only one Premier League goal.

Delap is looking to revive his career and regain the form he displayed during his breakthrough season with Ipswich in 2024-25, where he netted 12 league goals despite the team being relegated. Chelsea signed him for approximately £30 million, and after just one year, they have reportedly made a £20 million profit by selling him to Forest.

Delap's physical strength, pace, and ball-carrying ability were key attributes that made him effective at Ipswich, where he recorded the most shot-ending carries by any Premier League striker that season. At Nottingham Forest, he will work under manager Oliver Glasner, who Delap believes can aid in his development.
