Man City Signs Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille on Five-Year Deal

Manchester City has completed the signing of Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from French club Lille on a five-year contract, which will keep him at the Etihad until the summer of 2031. The 18-year-old midfielder is recognized as one of the most promising young talents in European football.

Bouaddi made history by becoming Lille’s youngest-ever senior player when he debuted just days after his 16th birthday in 2023, accumulating 96 appearances for the club. He also showcased his skills on the international stage, starting five of Morocco's six matches during the 2026 World Cup, where the team reached the quarter-finals.

Following his transfer, Bouaddi expressed his commitment to prioritizing the team's success over personal goals. His signing is part of Manchester City's midfield overhaul after the departures of Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Tijjani Reijnders.

Bouaddi joins England midfielder Elliot Anderson as a key addition to the squad under manager Enzo Maresca.
