Man City Targets Enzo Fernandez in £120m Transfer Bid

Manchester City is preparing a £120 million transfer bid for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, identified as a priority target by manager Enzo Maresca. Chelsea has set this valuation but will only consider selling if they secure a suitable replacement.

Despite an earlier deadline for offers, City has continued to pursue Fernandez, who joined Chelsea from Benfica in January 2023 for a British-record fee of £106.8 million. The potential transfer would reunite Fernandez with Maresca, who previously worked with him at Chelsea.

City has lost key midfield players, including Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders, and is also set to lose Nico Gonzalez to Newcastle. They have signed Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116 million and are pursuing Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi.

Fernandez is reportedly open to a move, with personal terms not expected to be a major hurdle. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has not guaranteed Fernandez's stay, indicating that developments in the transfer market could influence the situation.
