Eviction Leaves 32 Children with Disabilities Homeless

On May 13, 2026, Magnific Therapy Services, a long-standing therapy center for children with special needs, was forcibly evicted from its premises in Lagos following a court enforcement action related to a prolonged tenancy dispute. The eviction rendered 32 children, including those with cerebral palsy and autism, homeless and without access to their essential therapy routines.

The sudden disruption caused confusion and distress among the children, many of whom depend on structured care for their physical and emotional development. Bidemi Jaiyesimi, co-founder of the center, expressed deep emotional distress over the loss of a safe space crucial for the children's stability.

The center, which had been operational for 16 years, provided vital therapeutic services tailored to the children's needs. Following the eviction, temporary arrangements were made for some children, but many remain vulnerable without consistent care.

The organization had attempted to raise funds for relocation but faced significant financial challenges.
