Cross Calls for Action After Car Theft in Lekki

Ikechukwu Okonkwo, known as Cross, a former housemate of Big Brother Naija, reported a theft incident that occurred in Ikate, Lekki, Lagos State. In a video shared on his X handle, Cross described how a group of beggars approached his vehicle while he was driving.

One of the beggars engaged him in conversation, and during this interaction, he suddenly ripped a chrome trim from the windscreen of Cross's car and fled. Cross attempted to chase the suspect but was unable to catch him as he disappeared into traffic.

Expressing his frustration, Cross called on the federal government to address the safety concerns regarding beggars on the streets, stating, “Nigeria is not safe.” He highlighted the recurring issue of motorists being targeted by individuals posing as beggars in Lagos, particularly in high-traffic areas. Cross, who gained fame on BBNaija Season 6 in 2021 and returned for the All Stars edition in 2023, has previously spoken about his Christian faith and personal transformation.
