Bishop Ibenu Urges Completion of Lokoja-Abuja Highway

Bishop John Ibenu, the former Kogi State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, expressed his frustration regarding the Federal Government's inability to complete the Lokoja-Abuja Highway, a project that has remained unfinished for 20 years. He called on the government to enable contractors to effectively manage and complete the project, which was initially awarded during President Olusegun Obasanjo's administration in 2006.

Ibenu highlighted the havoc caused to motorists due to the highway's incomplete status and emphasized the urgent need for the government to address security challenges, particularly the threats posed by bandits to farmers. He noted that these issues have contributed to rising food prices in the country.

Speaking at the 34th anniversary of the Chapel of Freedom, Ibenu urged the government to take necessary actions to prevent the killing of military personnel and called for a review of the security architecture to save lives. He expressed hope for Nigeria's future, stating that the country needs visionary leadership.
