Kogi East Demands Federal Action on Neglected Roads

Jonathan Jibrin argues for federal intervention in the road infrastructure of Kogi East (Igala/Bassa land), citing the recent approval of 27 major road projects worth over ₦3.9 trillion across 15 states as evidence of neglect. He points out that while other regions celebrate infrastructure improvements, Kogi East suffers from deteriorating roads such as the Ayangba–Dekina–Shintaku federal road and the Otuocha–Ibaji–Idah Road, which remains largely impassable.

The Itobe–Ayangba–Ankpa–Otukpa federal road is noted for causing fatalities and economic disruption. Jibrin highlights the abandonment of the Aloma–Akpanya–Enugu-Ezike Road and the Idah–Nsukka Road's dangerous condition.

He stresses that these roads are vital for commerce, agriculture, education, and healthcare. As the 2027 general elections approach, he urges Kogi East residents to demand accountability from political leaders regarding infrastructure development, emphasizing that their votes should not be exchanged for empty promises.
