Maria Ud Nwachi Wins Ebonyi South PDP Senatorial Ticket

Maria Ud Nwachi, a former minority leader of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, secured the senatorial ticket for Ebonyi South under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) during a direct primary held in Afikpo. Addressing journalists in Abakaliki on Tuesday, Nwachi expressed her excitement about winning the PDP ticket and reiterated her belief that the party would achieve victory in the upcoming elections.

She thanked the delegates for their overwhelming support during the primary, stating that this was just the beginning of their journey. Nwachi emphasized the need to alleviate poverty in the region and expressed her commitment to representing the people of Ebonyi South effectively.

She also mentioned Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, who is running for governor of Ebonyi State in 2027, and highlighted his contributions to the community, including building 300 modern homes. Nwachi pledged to prioritize empowerment and development if elected to the Senate.
