Igariwei Denies Disqualification from APC Primary Elections

Iduma Igariwei, a member representing Afikpo Edda in the Ebonyi State House of Representatives, has denied allegations of his disqualification from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections. He addressed the claims during a press conference, stating that no one has disqualified him and that the reports circulating are the work of mischief-makers.

Igariwei emphasized that the documents in question do not bear his official name and expressed his happiness over his victory in the primary elections, where he secured 5,368 votes against his opponent, who received 9,785 votes, totaling 15,157 votes cast in the constituency. He criticized the notion of disqualification, asserting that the electoral process must adhere to the provisions of the Electoral Act and the Constitution of Nigeria.

Igariwei's remarks come as he prepares for the 2027 elections, reaffirming his commitment to represent his constituency effectively.
