Kikwete Praises Nigeria's Education Reforms Ahead of Summit

Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, the former President of Tanzania and Chairman of the Board of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), commended Nigeria's education reforms under Minister of Education Dr.

Maruf Olatunji Alausa. This recognition precedes the Global Education Summit in September, which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will co-chair with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Kikwete acknowledged Nigeria's commitment to improving learning outcomes and strengthening education systems during a meeting with Alausa. He expressed optimism about the summit's potential to attract international investment and enhance global collaboration in education.

Kikwete noted Alausa's role on the GPE Board as indicative of Nigeria's influence in shaping global education priorities.
