Nigeria's Education Minister Earns Global Praise for Reforms

Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, Nigeria's Minister of Education, has garnered international recognition for his transformative reforms in the education sector.

This commendation came from Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, former President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Chairman of the Board of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), during a meeting on Wednesday.

Dr. Kikwete praised the progress in Nigeria's education system and highlighted the ongoing reforms as a testament to Nigeria's commitment to enhancing learning outcomes.

He expressed optimism for the upcoming Global Education Summit in September, which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will co-chair with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, aimed at boosting global investment in quality education. Dr.

Kikwete acknowledged Nigeria's growing influence within the GPE, noting Dr. Alausa's role on the GPE Board as indicative of Nigeria's contributions to global education priorities.
