Terrorists in Zamfara Plan Retaliatory Attacks After Losses

A recent report indicates that terrorist groups in Zamfara are planning retaliatory attacks in response to substantial losses suffered during Nigerian military operations. Security expert Zagazola Makama highlights that these operations, part of the "Fansan Yanma" initiative, have resulted in the neutralization of 65 armed bandits, including high-profile figures linked to violent crimes in the region, such as Ado Aliero.

The operations have disrupted the criminal network's structure, leading to fears of revenge attacks against vulnerable rural communities. Intelligence reports suggest that approximately 200 motorcyclists, associated with known bandit leader Bello Turji, are mobilizing across forest routes.

The Nigerian military and DSS are intensifying surveillance and operations to prevent further breakdown of security and to dismantle remaining bandit camps. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements as the situation evolves.
