Bauchi Police Arrest Man for Raping 35 Women as Fake Rider

Gambo Hassan, a 53-year-old man also known as “Anahaka,” was arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command on September 11, 2026, for alleged kidnapping, rape, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of offensive weapons. The arrest occurred during a routine patrol along Adamu Jumba Road at approximately 8:45 PM.

Hassan reportedly disguised himself as a commercial motorcycle rider to target unsuspecting women. During interrogation, he confessed to the crimes and identified 15 victims, which later increased to 35.

Police recovered a sharp knife, a Bajaj motorcycle (registration number BAU 150G), and various stolen items from his residence, including 15 mobile phones, cash amounting to N425,435, and other personal belongings. The suspect and the recovered items have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
