Adeyemi Defends Appointment Amid Forgery Charges

Princ Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director General of a non-existent agency, insists that his appointment is genuine. He is currently facing charges of forgery and impersonation, with the Nigerian Police filing eight counts against him, including conspiracy.

Adeyemi expressed confidence in being vindicated, stating that the matter is already in court and he is prepared to face trial. He emphasized that the court has the jurisdiction to clear his name.

The allegations include operating a fictitious government agency and maintaining 34 bank accounts, with nine allegedly opened in the name of the non-existent agency. The charges were filed following an investigation that revealed Adeyemi's purported appointment letter was signed by Femi Gbajabiamila.

The case is scheduled for court on July 27, 2026. Adeyemi has called for an independent investigation into the allegations against him.
