Family Demands Justice for Slain Anambra Woman

The family of Regina Nwoy, a 65-year-old woman, is demanding justice following her murder in Anambra State on July 14, 2026. Nwoy was reportedly attacked in Ogbu Village, Ivit Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area, where she sustained multiple stab wounds and was left bleeding.

Her daughter, Bless Uwechia, has called for an immediate investigation and prosecution of everyone involved in the killing. The family alleges that although residents heard cries for help, the response was inadequate, and they claim that two individuals participated in the attack.

Despite being taken to a hospital, Nwoy's condition worsened, and she ultimately died. The family is urging authorities to conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation, emphasizing that every Nigerian deserves justice.

Tochi Ikenga, a spokesperson for the Anambra State Police, confirmed receipt of the family's petition but did not provide further details on the investigation's status.
