FCC Chairman Omidiran Addresses Job Racketeering Concerns

Hon. Omidiran, the chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), addressed job racketeering and staff welfare during the commission's first-ever general staff meeting held in Abuja.

In a statement released by the FCC's spokesman, Ademola Lawrence, she emphasized the need to safeguard the integrity of Nigeria's recruitment system, warning individuals involved in illegal recruitment practices of strict consequences. Omidiran introduced a whistleblower line, allowing staff members to confidentially report cases of recruitment malpractice, reinforcing the commission's commitment to transparency and accountability.

She highlighted the importance of staff welfare as a key priority for her administration, acknowledging the challenges faced by employees. The meeting, which brought together employees across various cadres, was described as a significant milestone in strengthening trust and communication within the commission.

Comrade Ameh Benson commended the leadership for prioritizing worker welfare and noted initiatives to improve staff development and working conditions, including digital capacity training and addressing long-standing water supply issues.
