Police Crackdown on FCT-Nasarawa Kidnap Syndicate

The Nigeria Police Force has successfully dismantled a suspected kidnapping syndicate that had been terrorizing communities along the Federal Capital Territory–Nasarawa axis. This operation, codenamed Operation Gbagalape, was executed by the Force Intelligence Department – Special Tactical Squad.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Godfrey Victor reported that the operation was initiated after a deadly attack on the Badalapé community on May 16, 2026, where armed kidnappers abducted residents and killed at least three individuals. During the operation, two suspects, Buhari Adamu and Abubakar Saido, were arrested, and further investigations led to the discovery of the gang's hideout in the forest, where more evidence was uncovered.

The police utilized intelligence gathering, area surveillance, and digital analysis to track down the suspects. The operation resulted in the rescue of victims and the recovery of evidence linked to the syndicate's criminal activities.
