APC Leads Early Results in FCT Elections Amid Low Turnout

In the early results from the Nyanya ward of the FCT elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is leading in both the chairmanship and councillorship races. In polling unit 016, the APC secured 13 votes for the chairmanship, while the People's Democratic Party (PDP) received 1 vote, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) 2 votes, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) 5 votes, and the Progressive Grand Alliance (PGA) 1 vote.

For the councillorship contest in the same unit, the APC garnered 11 votes, the PDP 1 vote, the SDP 0 votes, the ADC 4 votes, and the APGA 1 vote. Out of 754 registered voters, only 22 were accredited in this unit.

In polling unit 091, the APC recorded 20 votes for chairmanship, while the PDP and ADC each scored 1 vote. The voter turnout was low, with 428 registered voters and only 24 accredited in polling unit 077.

Dr. Charl Nwodo, a rights activist and rector, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its logistical improvements and urged citizens to remain vigilant in protecting their votes.
