FCTA Confiscates 40 Vehicles Outside Abuja Taxi Terminal

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) confiscated 40 commercial vehicles that were operating outside the newly designed Mabushi taxi terminal in Abuja. This enforcement action was disclosed by Dr.

Peter Olumuji from the FCTA Security Services Department during an operation in the Utako area on Friday. The vehicles were impounded as part of efforts to enforce a directive requiring commercial vehicles to operate along designated routes and relocate to the Mabushi taxi terminal.

This directive was announced by the FCT Transport Secretariat on June 21, with the relocation of operations to the terminal commencing on June 24. Dr.

Olumuji stated that the impounded vehicles violated the directive by continuing to operate outside the approved terminal, and their owners would face prosecution according to existing traffic regulations. Additionally, individuals obstructing law enforcement during this exercise were arrested.

The operation aims to ensure that commercial transport activities are conducted within designated locations to enhance the safety and security of commuters.
