FG Commends Kano for Recruiting 8,588 New Teachers

The Federal Government commended the Kano State Government for its significant investment in education, particularly the recruitment of 8,588 new teachers and facilitators. Education Minister Dr.

Maruf Tunji Alausa presented appointment letters to 4,900 newly recruited teachers and 3,688 Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) Cohort V facilitators. He urged the new employees to embrace professionalism and commit to delivering quality education, highlighting the pivotal role teachers play in shaping the nation's future.

Alausa praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for prioritizing education, noting that Kano State allocated 32 percent of its budget to the sector. He stated that the recruitment of nearly 9,000 teachers and facilitators in this exercise brings the total employed by the administration to about 16,000 within three years, marking a significant intervention in the education sector.

Alausa also acknowledged the state government's broader development initiatives, which align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
