FG Promises Conducive Learning, Donates Laptops to Students

The Federal Government, through Comrade Sunday Asefon, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, assured students of a conducive learning environment on campuses during a laptop donation event in Gombe on Thursday. The initiative, part of the Renewed Hope Student Leaders Engagement and Digital Acceleration Programme for the North-East Zone, involved the donation of 25 laptops to outstanding students in Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

Asefon stated that no Nigerian student should abandon tertiary education due to financial hardship and emphasized the government's commitment to creating opportunities for students. He explained that the laptop initiative rewards academic excellence and provides necessary digital tools for students.

The beneficiaries were selected based on nominations from their institutions, ensuring that the laptops reached those who genuinely needed them. Asefon noted that many top-performing students lacked personal computers, relying instead on smartphones for academic tasks, and expressed confidence that with proper resources, future leaders could emerge from this group.
