FG Launches Reconstruction of Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road

On August 4, 2026, the Federal Government of Nigeria officially launched the reconstruction of the 122-kilometre Kaduna (Mando)–Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State. The Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. Engr. David Umahi, stated that this project aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing the government's commitment to strategic infrastructure that promotes national integration, security, and economic growth.

The road serves as a crucial economic corridor linking Kaduna State with several other states, including Niger, Kwara, Osun, Oyo, and Lagos. Upon completion, it is expected to enhance the movement of goods and people, improve agricultural productivity, and stimulate socio-economic development.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State expressed gratitude for the project, noting its significance in restoring security and facilitating trade and agriculture in the region. The road will also feature modern infrastructure elements, such as solar-powered street lighting, reflecting a commitment to sustainable development.
