FG Inaugurates Nigeria Police Academy Governing Council

On May 25, 2026, the Federal Government inaugurated the Governing Council of the Nigeria Police Academy located in Wudil. The ceremony was attended by key officials, including Senator Dr.

Ibrahim Gaidam, who serves as the Federal Minister of Police Affairs. He described the event as a significant milestone in the government's commitment to reforming the security sector and modernizing the Nigerian police force.

Senator Gaidam conveyed goodwill from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirming the administration's dedication to strengthening institutions that promote national security and public trust in the police. He noted that the council's formation is not merely ceremonial but a critical step in shaping police directives and promoting excellence within the academy.

Dr. Anuma Ogbonnaya Nlia, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Police Affairs, commended the leadership and emphasized the importance of collaboration among key institutions to advance the academy's mandate.
